CRM - Timberline Integration:
Q - When I open CRM why do I get a message similar to the follwing in the bottom of the main menu bar?
(Note - this important part of the error message is the 'No such table or object').
Metadataloaderror: Error loading table ACTIVITY_ARA_RECORD_2: [TimberlineODBC][TimberlineODBCEngine ODBC Driver][DRM File Library]No such table or object (SELECT * FROM ACTIVITY_ARA_RECORD_2 )
A - This message means the Timberline ODBC connection that CRM is using cannot see the Timberline tables. Most of the time this is due to a security/permissions problem occuring somewhere between the 2 applications.
1. Firstly, check that Timberline can be loaded from the machine hosting CRM. If not the a workstation install must be re-done.
2. Check the user setup for CRM under IIS (Admin Tools - Internet Information Services - web sites - default website - then right click on your CRM install name and select properties - Directory Security tab - and edit the anonymous access).
3. The user selected under here by default is the IUSR_machinename however if Timberline is on a different server it is difficult to give this CRM IIS user access to Timberline. It's suggested that a domain user be created that has total access to Timberline and all the CRM folders (we suggest a domain user called 'TSCRM'). It's easiest to make the user a domain administrator, otherwise the user must have rights to the Timberline accounting folders and all subfolders, Timberline Data folders, the Inetpub\wwwroot\crm folder and all subfolders, as well as the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software registry folder.
4. If this user is then selected as the IIS user it should solve the problem. Note: It is important to ensure the 'Allow IIS to control Password' checkbox is NOT ticked. Perform an IISRESET then reload CRM.
Q - When I open CRM why do I get the following message in the bottom of the main menu bar?
(Note - the important part of the message is 'The Btrieve file directory is invalid')
Error loading table APINHEAD: UnableToConnectToDB [Pervasive][ODBC Client Interface][LNA][Pervasive][ODBC Engine Interface][Data Record Manager]The Btrieve file directory is invalid(Btrieve Error 35) Driver: ODBC Server: SERVER01 Database: TSCRMPO LoginName: TSCRM
A - This message indicates the ODBC driver cannot see the database for Purchasing/Inventory. A similar message to this may be displayed with the Database: TSCRMSM if SM integration is installed. This may occur due to datafolders being in slightly different locations (for example in Timberline 9.1 the Purchasing data is in \datalocation\PVData\AcData folder and then was moved to \datalocation\POIVData folder in Timberline 9.2). Follow these steps to solve the problem.
1. Open ODBC Administrator (Admin Tools - Data Sources (ODBC)
2. Go to the System DSN tab and click configure on the TSCRMPO or TSCRMSM depending upon your error message.
3. Click Create and point the new connection at your PVData\AcData folder for PO/IV, or SMData folder for SM. Click Test to make sure the connection is working, then perform an IIS Reset and open CRM. The problem should be gone.
Q - When I open CRM why do I get a message similar to the follwing in the bottom of the main menu bar?
(Note - this important part of the error message is the 'Invalid password').
Metadataloaderror: Error loading table ACTIVITY_ARA_RECORD_2: UnableToConnectToDB [TimberlineODBC][TimberlineODBCEngine ODBC Driver][DRM File Library]Invalid password Driver: ODBC Server: SERVER01 Database: TSCRM LoginName: TSCRM
A - The ODBC connection to Timberline contains a username and password that is not setup in Timberline. Follow these steps to correct the problem.
1. Within CRM go to Administration - TS Security
2. Go to the TS Login tab and click change. Enter in a Timberline user that has full rights to all modules that have integration. Click Save, then log out of CRM and perform an IIS Reset.
